Introduction
At Plain CS (accessible at plaincs.org), one of our primary priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information that are collected and recorded by Plain CS and how we handle it.
100% Client-Side Processing Architecture
A core design principle of Plain CS is zero backend computation for browser utilities. When you use our calculators, encoders, formatters, or converters (such as the IPv4 Subnet Calculator, JSON Formatter, Base64 Converter, or Cron Tester):
- All processing occurs exclusively within your local web browser’s JavaScript runtime memory.
- No text, input code, IP addresses, or file payloads are ever transmitted to, stored on, or inspected by our servers.
- When you close or refresh your browser tab, all session memory is instantly wiped by your browser.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any standard web property, Plain CS uses “cookies”. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences (such as light/dark mode selection) and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.
Google AdSense & DoubleClick DART Cookie
Google is one of the third-party vendors on our site. It also uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to our site and other sites on the internet:
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you may opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Third-Party Advertising Partners
Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that appear on Plain CS, which are sent directly to users’ browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.
Note: Plain CS has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.
GDPR & CCPA Privacy Rights
Under data protection laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you are entitled to:
- The right to request copies of your personal data.
- The right to request correction of any inaccurate information.
- The right to request erasure of your personal data.
- The right to object to processing or request restriction of processing.
Because Plain CS does not mandate user accounts, passwords, or cloud database storage, we do not store customer profiles or tracking dossiers.
